Choose your length, width, top wood, base wood and base color above and the price updates as you go.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cb\u003eEvery table is finished in Rubio Monocoat hardwax oil.\u003c\/b\u003e It bonds into the wood fibers instead of sitting on top as a plastic film, so the surface is tough, water-resistant and food-safe once cured — and it still feels like wood under your hand, not like a countertop. It's the finish used on commercial floors and restaurant tabletops. The other advantage is that it's repairable in place: if the table ever gets marked years down the road, that one spot can be touched up without stripping or refinishing the whole piece. A table finished this way is meant to be used, not protected.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eChoosing your wood\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eRed Oak\u003c\/strong\u003e — the workhorse of American hardwood. Strong, open-grained, and it takes color beautifully, which makes it the most forgiving choice if you're matching existing furniture or floors.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eCherry\u003c\/strong\u003e — the heirloom wood. Starts a soft pinkish tan and darkens over the first year into a deep reddish brown. The one table that genuinely looks better in ten years than the day it's delivered.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eHard Maple\u003c\/strong\u003e — the brightest and hardest of the five. A pale, tight, almost creamy grain that suits lighter and more modern rooms, and the densest surface we offer for a table that's going to take a beating from kids.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eWhite Oak\u003c\/strong\u003e — the current favorite, for good reason. Straighter and more neutral than red oak, with the warm greyish-tan tone that anchors modern farmhouse and transitional rooms. Also the most water-resistant of the five.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eWalnut\u003c\/strong\u003e — the premium. Deep chocolate brown with purple and amber running through it, and it needs no stain whatsoever to look the way it looks.
