Table Care
Table Care & Maintenance Guide
Built to be used. Made to last.
Your True North table is finished with a premium hardwax oil chosen to protect the wood while allowing its natural character and feel to remain visible.
With a little everyday care, your table can be enjoyed for years to come. Hardwax oil also allows for maintenance and spot repairs without necessarily requiring the entire table to be refinished.

EVERYDAY CARE
For normal cleaning
1. Wipe crumbs, dust, and everyday messes with a soft, dry cloth.
2. For food or sticky residue, use a clean cloth lightly dampened with warm water.
3. For more thorough cleaning, use Rubio Monocoat Surface Care Spray or properly diluted Rubio Monocoat Soap.
4. Wipe away excess moisture and allow the surface to dry.
Remember: The cloth should be damp—not soaking wet. Do not leave standing water on the tabletop.

SPILLS
Spills happen. Don't panic.
Wipe up water, coffee, wine, juice, food, and other spills as soon as reasonably practical.
For sticky residue, use a lightly dampened cloth. If additional cleaning is needed, use Rubio Monocoat Surface Care Spray.
For unusual spills such as permanent marker, nail polish, strong chemicals, or other substances you're unsure about, contact True North before attempting a repair.

PROTECT YOUR TABLE
Use coasters when practical
Coasters help protect the surface from moisture and condensation.
Protect from heat
Always use a trivet or hot pad underneath hot cookware, serving dishes, slow cookers, and other heated items.
Never place extremely hot cookware directly on the tabletop.
Your table is made to be lived on—these simple precautions just help prevent unnecessary damage.

WHAT NOT TO USE
Do not use:
- Bleach
- Ammonia-based cleaners
- Harsh household cleaners
- Abrasive cleaners or powders
- Furniture polishes
- Unapproved solvents or chemicals
- Products not intended for your hardwax oil finish
When in doubt, don't put it on the table.
MAINTENANCE
Over time, heavily used areas may begin to look dry, dull, or slightly rough. This can be a sign that the finish needs maintenance.
One of the benefits of hardwax oil is that maintenance can often be done without sanding and refinishing the entire table.
For Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C finishes, Rubio Monocoat Renew may be used to refresh a surface that has become dry or rough.
Always follow the current manufacturer's instructions for the specific product used on your table.
Minor scratches or damage
Small areas of wear can often be repaired or refreshed. Before attempting a repair yourself, contact True North for guidance so you know which product and process is appropriate for your particular finish.
YOUR FINISH INFORMATION MATTERS
If your table ever needs maintenance or repair, the information given with your table can help identify the exact finish and color originally used.
If you choose to perform a repair yourself, please verify the finish product and color before purchasing replacement material.
If you're unsure, contact True North Woodwork Co. first.
We're happy to help you keep your table looking its best.
